We proudly announce that Wisehockey is nominated for Sports Technology Awards 2025 with our trusted partner PENNY DEL. Our joint entry “Puck Biography – A New Era of Sports Memorabilia” is shortlisted as Best Technology for Fan Engagement.
The story began last spring when PENNY DEL auctioned smart pucks used to score goals in the final series. The total sum of 12,000 euros was raised to support German youth hockey.
The auctioned pucks came with Wisehockey’s original Puck Biographies. Via unique QR codes, the new owners can view all the fascinating details of the puck’s life: how fast the best shots were, which team and players had possession of the puck for the longest time, a video clip of the goal scored with the puck, and much more.
Puck Biography makes unique bits of hockey analytics available to the loyal fan. Using analytics and digitalization, it takes traditional game memorabilia to the next level like never seen before.
The thrilling Awards will culminate on 23 April in London when the winners are announced.
