In June, the Norwegian EliteHockey Ligaen and Wisesport signed a new four-year contract that ensures a continuing partnership through 2030. EHL actively invests in digitalization: it has adopted Wisehockey’s goal camera, automated video clipping, and other advanced AI-based solutions for coaching, refereeing, and fan engagement.
As part of EHL’s significant investment in digitalization, the collaboration aims to capture new audiences and make ice hockey even more popular across Norway. Wisehockey will deliver solutions providing concrete tools for coaching, player development, and next-level fan engagement.
“We’ve seen the tremendous potential of this technology, and we believe it represents an important investment in the future of EHL. As a league, we have ambitious goals to scale our operations, and that requires smarter ways of working. Wisehockey’s solutions give us the opportunity to professionalize our daily operations, automate the collection and use of data, and create an even better product for clubs, coaches, officials, media, partners, and fans,” says Cato Cocozza, CEO of EHL.
“At the same time, technology alone doesn’t create value. It’s now up to our clubs and us to fully embrace these solutions and take advantage of the competitive edge they provide. That’s why implementation and increasing adoption across multiple areas of the game will be just as important as the technology itself,” Cocozza says.

Growing audience and business in the future
Wisehockey provides instant performance insights through data tracking and AI-driven, cloud-based live analytics. Advanced video tech, such as automated goal cameras and real-time video clipping, ensures efficient, modern tools for all parties involved in games.
Wisehockey’s API enables seamless delivery of game data to popular Forza-powered apps, enriching the fan experience.
“EliteHockey Ligaen continues to push the limits of what Norwegian ice hockey can become. The latest Men’s World Championship bronze medal is a wonderful example of the great work that has been done in the last years,” says Miska Kuusisto, Wisehockey’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
“They are among the forward-thinking professional leagues investing heavily in AI and digitalization. This is exactly where the sports industry is headed, and it is where the future of audience growth and business opportunity lies,” Kuusisto concludes.
With this contract, EHL cements its position at the forefront of sports technology, while Wisehockey’s cutting-edge innovation continues to transform the game on and off the ice.
Wisehockey has provided fully automated real-time ice hockey statistics and related AI services to EHL since 2021. The new contract covers the years 2026–2030.
